Princeton Lightwave delivers high performance light sources to Northrop Grumman Division

Cranbury, N.J., September 19, 2005

Princeton Lightwave, Inc. (PLI), a producer of near infrared high-power laser Diodes, broadband light sources and application specific photodetectors for communications, defense, and sensing applications, announced today it is delivering production grade high performance light sources for use in select Inertial Measurement Units manufactured by a unit of Northrop Grumman Corporation.

The device designed, and manufactured by PLI has been designed to meet very stringent performance and reliability requirements for airborne deployment. The product is currently being shipped in production quantities to Northrop Grumman’s Navigation Systems Division.

“The product is bringing a level of performance that is unmatched for a semiconductor based light source. PLI is demonstrating both our ability to design high reliability, high performance semiconductor light sources, and execute through production to deliver module level products to our customers”, says Alka Swanson, EVP at PLI.
