Cranbury, N.J., March 7, 2005
Princeton Lightwave, Inc.(PLI), a leading supplier of
specialized optical sources, detectors and detection
sub-systems, announced the improvement of OSNR
performance within its line of Optical Channel Monitors
(OCM).
PLI has developed advanced algorithms and proprietary
fiber grating technology which further improve s the
OSNR performance of its 100 GHz and 50 GHz spaced
Optical Channel Monitor product line.
Network designers use OSNR as a feedback signal in order
to monitor the health of DWDM signals. The capability of
a high Optical Signal to Noise Ratio allows users to
measure the line shape of channels with high integrity.
PLI's 100G OCM module is capable of detecting OSNR equal
to 28dB, it makes it the highest performance device in
the industry.
"PLI continues to work closely with customers to
improve their system performance." said PLI's
Product Manager David Jhaveri. He further stated that
"the addition of this improved feature brings
greater value to our customers. PLI is currently
shipping this device in production quantities to the
major system equipment manufacturers." The OCM
design platform has been proven over the years in more
than ten thousand delivered products.
