InGaAs APDs

Princeton Lightwave's mode avalanche photodiodes offer industry-leading performance in terms of low noise, sensitivity and reliability. They leverage PLI’s proprietary high performance, planar InP-InGaAs APD device design and high reliability packaging platforms. They are available with levels of integration from chip-on-submount to full rangefinder receivers. They are designed for applications in LADAR and range finding, free-space optical communication, optical time domain reflectometry and confocal microscopy.

Discrete InGaAs APDs

Princeton Lightwave’s linear mode APD offers industry-leading performance in terms of dark current, sensitivity and reliability. It leverages PLI’s proprietary high performance, planar InP-InGaAs APD device design, and high reliability packaging platforms. The device is designed for operation in the linear mode with voltage bias below breakdown, at typical optical gains of 10-15. The APDs employ a front illuminated design and are packaged in either a standard TO-18 or ceramic sub-mount.

Large Area (80-200 um)

Princeton Lightwave’s large area linear mode APDs are available in standard sizes of 80 um and 200 um diameter.  These high performance devices are intended for use in optical receivers requiring chip-level gain.  These APDs employ a front-illuminated design and are available in die form, on ceramic submounts, or in standard To-can pacakages.
