Management Team

Yves Dzialowski
President and Chief Executive Officer

Yves Dzialowski still enjoys Optics after 30 years in the business. After completing his Doctorate in Optics at the University of Paris, he managed Sales and Marketing activities in Europe for some of the pioneers of the Fiber Optics industry (General Optronics, Photodyne) then joined EPITAXX Inc. in Princeton, NJ. During his fifteen year tenure, Yves led EPITAXX to become the leading global supplier of InP-based photodetectors and receiver modules, with more than a million devices sold, serving applications in telecom, CATV, and instrumentation. He led the sale of EPITAXX to JDS Uniphase in 1999. At JDSU, he was Senior Vice President in charge of Strategy and Business Development. He came to Princeton Lightwave with the current management team, where they successfully orchestrated the turnaround of the Company.

Mark Itzler
Chief Technical Officer

Mark Itzler oversees device technology at Princeton Lightwave. After obtaining a PhD in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania and completing post-doctoral work at Harvard University, he jettisoned an academic career to join EPITAXX in 1996. His focus on photodetector design included the development of a market-leading 10 Gb/s avalanche photodiode as well as other detectors for telecom, CATV, and instrumentation applications. At EPITAXX and then JDS Uniphase, Mark was CTO for Active Devices. During the past couple of years at Princeton Lightwave, Mark has brought several new devices to market, including InGaAs detectors with extended wavelength range and avalanche photodiodes for single photon counting. He also manages PLI’s R&D efforts on mid-wave and long-wave infrared superlattice detectors.

Sabbir Rangwala
Vice President Product Development and Operations

Sabbir Rangwala focuses on implementing product development and manufacturing operations for Princeton Lightwave. After his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Berkeley, he joined AT&T where he was involved in early work on high reliability undersea optical devices. He was instrumental in the development of the first undersea pump lasers and in high performance manufacturing system for optical packaging. He then moved into the service side of AT&T, and later on to Deloitte Touche, where he was involved in consulting for telecommunication customers. He came back to Optics in 1999, joining the EPITAXX division of JDS Uniphase as Vice President of Product Development. Among other successes, he managed the introduction of several leading product lines of the company, including 10Gb/s DWDM and SDH receivers and undersea amplifier monitors.
