Overview

Princeton Lightwave ( PLI ) applies its unique expertise in indium phosphide-based optical semiconductor devices, such as InGaAs PINs, high power lasers and avalanche photodetectors, to design and manufacture optical components and modules for defense and commercial applications.

The Company’s core capabilities enable it to deliver solutions offering higher performance, reduced system costs and easier deployment to its customers in the fields of aerospace and defense, optical networking, industrial processing, and bio-medical instrumentation.  Princeton Lightwave is an established Company with a long background in optical semiconductor devices and photonics components and modules. The technical staff has extensive experience acquired in designing and manufacturing leading edge products at companies like AT&T, EPITAXX, JDS Uniphase, Lucent, and OFS.
PLI has achieved leading edge performance for III-V (InP and GaAs) detectors and sources, including Short Wave Infrared Focal Plane Arrays ( SWIR FPAs ), linear arrays, single element lasers and bars, superluminescent diodes, p-i-n and avalanche photodiode detectors, at wavelengths ranging from near infrared to short-wave infrared.

PLI’s optical, mechanical, electrical and software expertise enables the design of these core components into complete modules adapted to OEM customers.
PLI’s customers include companies offering optical systems in a variety of applications as diverse as defense imaging systems & components, military search, targeting & guidance systems, telecommunications network monitoring, and food processing and inspection. They value the exacting performance of PLI’s detector or laser components and the additional ability that PLI has to design and deliver those components inside complete, integrated OEM modules functioning as the optical engine of their product.
